Age Related Cognitive Challenges

Cognitive decline refers to a gradual decrease in cognitive function over time. It is a normal part of aging but it can impact how a person thinks, learns and remembers. Cognitive decline can affect different aspects of cognition, like memory, attention, language and problem solving. It can even affect your social interaction. We know today that cognitive decline starts to occur 10 to 20 years earlier than symptoms occur.  Understanding the factors that contribute to cognitive decline can help you make changes in your life style and can help you slow down cognitive decline and improve your cognitive abilities.  We will work with you using  Cognitive Neurofeedback, Neurofeedback,  Stress Management techniques and Health Brain Coaching. Therefore we can help you before symptoms develop. We will assist you  by retraining your brain resulting in improved a memory, focus and attention allowing you to continue the same quality of life.

Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD)

ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a neurological condition that affects a person ability to  concentrate control impulses and regulate behaviors. ADHD can impact academic, social, and occupational functioning, and can also lead to anxiety and depression. 

Cognitive Neurofeedback has been proven to decrease ADHD symptoms. In 2012 The American Academy of Pediatrics determined Brainwave Biofeedback (Neurofeedback) Level 1 best support intervention (no medication) for Attention and Hyperactive Behavior and many studies support Neurofeedback as a non medical choice for neurological regulation.  After an assessment,  we can train you so your brain became focus attentive and calm and relax. You will be training in all the cognitives abilities that brings you trouble, like not being able to finish assignments for work or homework, your impulsivity, working memory and many other cognitive skills.  In addition and as an ADHD coach, we will also work on all your academic and emotional challenges. 

Attention and Memory

Attention is a cognitive process that allows you to focus on a specific stimuli while filtering other distractions. It is critical to our daily lives and helps us to concentrate, learn, solve problems and respond to information.  Attention is the first step in the learning process, therefore concentration and focus are crucial to learning.  You will learn to pay attention, sustain focus and attention.  You will be also trained  in working memory, short term memory, spatial memory, auditory memory among other abilities.

Executive Functions

Executive functions are critical for success in many areas of life including academics, work and social relationships.  They refer to the cognitive processes that are involved in planning, paying attention, focusing, prioritizing, organizing, avoiding procrastination, remaining on task, self regulating. There are several key executive functions like working memory, mental flexibility and self control. You will be trained in these specific cognitive skills with cognitive devices. You will learn to improve cognitive functions  and self regulation.  People who have strong executive functions are better able to plan and execute tasks, manage time effectively and regulate their behavior and emotions. Executive functions are essential for success in life. You will develop strong executive function skills,  achieving  your goals and lead a fulfilling life.
